Guidelines for Authors
The LexOcta Chronicle – Legal Research Journal
Thank you for considering a submission to The LexOcta Chronicle, the research and academic journal under the LexOcta initiative. We aim to provide a platform for insightful, high-quality, and well-researched legal writing that addresses contemporary legal developments, doctrinal critiques, and interdisciplinary analyses.
We invite contributions from law students, academicians, researchers, advocates, and policy professionals across India and beyond.
1. Theme & Scope of the Journal
The LexOcta Chronicle accepts original, unpublished research papers, articles, and essays on a wide range of contemporary and traditional legal issues. Authors may choose topics from, but not limited to, the following:
Constitutional Law
Criminal Law & Procedure
Civil Law & Tort
Corporate & Commercial Laws
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Environmental Law
Intellectual Property Law
Technology & Cyber Law
Human Rights & Social Justice
Family Law
International Law
Jurisprudence & Legal Theory
We welcome interdisciplinary papers that explore the interaction of law with politics, society, economics, technology, and governance.
2. Submission Categories & Word Limit

Note: Word count excludes footnotes and references.
3. Format & Style Requirements
File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
Font: Times New Roman
Font Size:
Body text – 12 pt
Sub-headings – 14 pt (bold)
Line Spacing: 1.5
Margins: 1 inch on all sides
Alignment: Justified
Headings/Subheadings: Bold, properly structured
4. Citations and References
Use a uniform citation style – preferably Bluebook (20th edition) or ILI citation style.
Footnotes only – no in-text citations.
Footnotes font size: 10 pt, single-spaced.
Avoid excessive footnoting or endnotes.
5. Structure of the Submission
All articles must include:
Title Page with:
Title of the article
Author’s name(s)
Designation & Institution (if applicable)
Contact email and phone number
Abstract: 150–250 words summary of the article
Keywords: 4–6 relevant keywords
Main Article with headings/sub-headings
Reference List: Include only cited sources
Author Bio: A brief bio (max 100 words) for each author
6. Co-authorship
Maximum of two authors per submission.
All co-authors must submit individual bios and joint declaration.
7. Originality & Plagiarism Policy
Submissions must be original and unpublished.
Plagiarism of more than 10% (excluding references) will lead to automatic rejection.
Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy and originality of their work.
8. Submission Process
Submit your article via email to: journal@lexocta.com
Subject line: Submission – LexOcta Chronicle – [Title of your Article]
Submission should include:
Final manuscript in Word format
Cover letter and declaration of originality
Author bio(s)
9. Review Process
All submissions undergo blind peer review by our editorial board.
Review duration: within 3–5 business days.
Feedback for revision will be provided if required.
The editorial team’s decision is final.
10. Copyright & Licensing
Authors retain full copyright of their work.
By submitting, authors grant non-exclusive publication rights to The LexOcta Chronicle.
Authors may republish elsewhere with due acknowledgment.
