Publication Ethics

At The Lex Octa Chronicle, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethics in legal research and academic publishing. This policy outlines the responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers, and reflects our dedication to integrity, fairness, and transparency in scholarly communication.

1. Responsibility of Authors

  • Originality: Submissions must be the author’s original work. Plagiarism, duplication, or copyright infringement is strictly prohibited.

  • Proper Citation: All sources, references, and third-party content must be clearly cited using a consistent citation style.

  • Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal or publication simultaneously.

  • Acknowledgment: Contributions of others (research, data, editing) must be properly acknowledged.

  • Authorship: Only individuals who have made a significant contribution should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final version before submission.

  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Any financial, institutional, or personal interest that may influence the research or publication must be disclosed.

2. Responsibility of Editors

  • Fair Review Process: All submissions are evaluated solely based on academic merit, originality, and relevance — without bias related to the author’s background, gender, caste, religion, or affiliation.

  • Confidentiality: Editors must keep all submitted manuscripts confidential and must not use information obtained for personal advantage.

  • Decision-making: Editors have complete authority to accept or reject a paper based on peer review, ethical guidelines, and journal scope.

3. Responsibility of Reviewers

  • Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted impartially, providing constructive criticism and clear feedback to improve the manuscript.

  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential and not shared with others.

  • No Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where they have a competing interest or close relationship with the author(s).

4. Research Integrity and Misconduct

  • Plagiarism & Duplication: If discovered, such papers will be rejected or retracted. Future submissions from the authors may be banned.

  • Fabrication or Falsification of Data: This is considered academic misconduct and will result in withdrawal or blacklisting.

  • Corrections and Retractions: In case of significant errors or ethical issues discovered post-publication, the article will be corrected or retracted transparently.

5. Ethics for Human & Sensitive Research (if applicable)

  • Research involving human subjects, interviews, surveys, or sensitive data must comply with applicable ethical guidelines and privacy protections.

  • Authors should include an ethics approval statement and a declaration of informed consent, where relevant.

6. Publisher Responsibility

  • Platform Integrity: We ensure the transparency of journal operations, copyright policies, and access to archival content.

  • Safeguarding Ethics: The Lex Octa Chronicle takes active measures to prevent and address ethical violations by any party.

Our Commitment

At Lex Octa Chronicle, we believe in promoting a culture of academic honesty, transparency, and accountability. We reserve the right to take appropriate action — including retraction, blacklisting, or notifying institutions — in the event of a breach of these ethical standards.
